From harvesting grapes in the fields to grape trampling or grape stamping as it's called, which is part of the maceration method used in traditional winemaking. Instead of crushing the grapes in a wine press or with any other mechanized method, the grapes are repeatedly trampled in vats by barefoot participants to release their juices to begin to ferment.
